Game Development Laboratory (GameLab)
GAME Lab is a research laboratory that focuses on the development of innovative projects in the field of Graphics, Animation, Multimedia and Entertainment (hence, GAME lab). Formerly 澳门六合彩 Game Development Laboratory, it was rebranded in January 2018, with its focus realigned to specialize in other creative fields of Computer Science. Currently, the active projects in GAME lab are: Eagle-Eye, a mobile image enhancement system, and recently started augmented-reality projects.
As a research laboratory for game development, the lab participates in an annual game competition,聽GAMEON where games made by students are showcased in an exhibit at Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS).
GAME lab has received the Most Innovative Award last GAMEON 2018 with the game, 鈥淛ank Fu鈥, and GAMEON 2017,聽with the game, 鈥淲ar Tactics AR鈥. GAME lab explores virtual/augmented/mixed reality systems through various聽experimental projects. See the sample projects below:

Eagle-Eye 2.0: Towards a Robust Mobile Image Enhancement
Track: Multimedia
Research Theme: Sustainability, the Environment, Energy
The research project, named 鈥淓agle-Eye 2.0: Towards a Robust Mobile Image Enhancement” is an improvement of a successful research work, titled 鈥淎 Technical Framework for Multiple-Image Super-Resolution on Mobile Devices”. This聽research aims to improve the previous framework for implementing a mobile multiple-image super-resolution (MMISR)聽for portable devices.
There are two proposed systems. The first implementation is to create a more robust image alignment algorithm, that聽also considers moving objects and removes the 鈥済hosting” and blurring effects through inpainting. The second聽implementation allows image quality transfer from one device with capable hardware camera, to another device with聽lesser capable camera. Aside from publishing this work, the software prototype 鈥淓agle-Eye HD Camera” will be updated聽in Google Play Store, which is freely available for Android devices. As part of improving the quality of the system, existing聽modules will be optimized and sped up by delegating some of the tasks in the GPU of a mobile device.

Students聽who developed outstanding projects are invited to continue their work at GAME lab.
